A new vaccine called gardasil has been approved in the USA for HPV virus. This vaccine is for girls. It protects against HPV that causes cervical cancer and genital warts. The vaccine is given in three shots over six months. It is advised that the vaccine be given to girls before they become sexually active. Consult your doctor for more details.
