Acid Mantle & Dry Skin

Skin produces sebum and sweat. Both sebum and sweat combine to form acid mantle on the skin. This liquid is acidic in nature. It protects the skin from bacterial infection and dryness. If the skin gets exposed to atmosphere directly, it dries sooner. The acid mantle forms a barrier between the skin and the atmosphere. Many times, you wash your skin many times in a day, or use harsh soaps to wash away the oil and feel fresh. But it harms you more than doing good. The loss of acid mantle results in dry skin. Use acid balanced soap to clean your skin. Moisturize frequently. Keep your acid mantle intact to stop skin dryness.
