Nail Fungus: Prevention & Care

Prevention & Care

These are methods that will help prevent nail fungus. If you are diabetic, or if your immune system is compromised, you must take all precautions to avoid contacting the disease.

  • Wear cotton socks and shoes that breathe.
  • Treat shoes with an anti-fungal powder or spray once a week.
  • Keep nails clipped and short.
  • Use anti-fungal topical after visiting any crowded place to prevent the disease.
  • Don't get manicure and pedicure done at salons unless you are sure about the hygiene standards there.
  • Wear shoes while in a locker room, gym or by the poolside.

Consult your doctor for further details.
